The beautiful Karen Blixen Camp is located in the vital north-western zone of the Masai Mara ecosystem, known as the Mara North Conservancy.
Situated on the banks of the Mara River, the camp boasts the impressive Oloololo Escarpment in the foreground and the Mara Steppes in the background. Throughout the day, elephants, giraffes, zebras and impalas come to drink, while a large herd of hippos relax in the river.
A Gold Eco-Rated Camp since 2017, Karen Blixen Camp offers visitors expecting a little more from a safari an experience with even more flair from times gone by. The camp has 22 luxury tents located directly on the banks of the Mara River. It offers a blend of Karen Blixen’s era and modern-day luxury.

Karen Blixen Camp is located in the beautiful Mara North Conservancy, a vital part of the wider Masai Mara ecosystem in the north-west of the country.

With its 22 spacious guest tents, Karen Blixen Camp is a boutique-hotel-class safari camp. Karen Blixen Camp’s interior has been designed to resemble Karen Blixen’s home.
Each tent has a veranda where you can enjoy the wonderful Mara evenings. The tents are equipped with an en-suite bathroom and shower. All 22 tents are situated on the banks of the river. The camp also has a restaurant, bar, pool, and wellness facilities.
Guests are offered excellent Italian, Asian and African cuisine.
Benefit from numerous safari activities: meet the “Big Five” (elephant, rhinoceros, lion, buffalo and leopard) on game drives in an open SUV or venture particularly close to wildlife on bush walks.
The highlight of your visit is clearly the “Great Migration”: marvel at up to 1.5 million wildebeests, 400,000 zebras and Thomson’s gazelles that roam the savannah not far from your accommodation and book a balloon safari to the extent of this Marvel at the natural spectacle even more impressively.
On warm summer days, look forward to a dip in the cool swimming pool before heading to the river bed with a sundowner in hand. Here you will find unforgettable African sunsets that you will remember for a long time.
