Tala Collection Game Reserve
Camperdown, South Africa
Description
From being greeted by warthogs on arrival to seeing zebras and giraffes in the early morning, Tala Collection Game Reserve offers a memorable stay for all types of travelers. Because Tala is malaria-free and there are no large predators, it is a prime choice for families and holidaymakers looking for an uncomplicated, authentic bush holiday.
Location
One of the most appealing aspects of this game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal is its easily accessible location to or from Durban. Quiet and off the beaten track, Tala covers 3 000 hectares and comprises a mix of acacia thornland, open grassland and a protected wetland that attracts more than 380 bird species and plenty of wildlife, including kudu, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, gnu and eland.
In and around the hotel
Besides a superb choice of rooms in a range of lodges and houses, there is also the option of self-catering in our Fisherman’s Cottage near the dam. Culinary options include the Paperbark Restaurant and traditional outdoor bomas.
At Tala, there is a set daily schedule of morning and afternoon game drives, with coffee and sundowner stops to complete the experience. Spend the rest of the day bushwalking, by the pool or simply relaxing in the comfort of your room. Special occasions such as weddings are also offered by Tala Lodge.
